Hey Scotty,
I have a 2017 Ford Fusion with the 2.5l engine, FWD, with 82,000 miles. I noticed my transmission was shifting harsh and sometimes slipping gears especially during the colder months. I just had the transmission fluid changed, Dexron VI, and the fluid was black and did not appear to have any metal shavings in it. My trusted mechanic said there is most likely no long term damage to the transmission. Should I take my car to a transmission shop to look it over? Would you recommend I look for another car since transmission repairs can be costly?
