Hello scotty, i recently was driving on the freeway in 5th gear and i shifted to 6th gear. I started to smell a burning scent and when i would step on the gas my car wouldn't accelerate but the engine would become louder as the rpm's went up. Im prettyy sure its slipping but when i pulled to the side and attempted to start the car from 1st like normal, the car would pull fine and not have any problems but the foul smell. it seems it only slips at higher rpms or gears? IDK what this is since im not a big car guy. I asked mechanics and they didnt know the problem and told me to bring my car in so they could check it out.

Your clutch disc is going out. New clutch package in your future.
