I have a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis that sounds like RPMs are going up but really dropping slowly the problem happens when I decelerate or am at idle I have to rev match to get noise to go away

Well, you basically have to figure out where that noise is coming from. See my video finding the source of car noises Scotty. It's on YouTube. Now. If it does it when you decelerate and at idle, it probably has something to do with the throttle system. I start by analyzing that
