I'm thinking of buying a 2015 or 16 or ,17 Lexus IS 300. I was wondering if they're good fast cars? Do they have any problems in the long run and which one out of the 3 should I go with?
They are good cars. Have a mechanic check it before buying.
They have a significant problem with premature front inner tire wear, all years, all IS models. Many need to have the front tires replaced every 10K miles or so. If you are willing to spend $600 a year on two new front tires, they are nice, but count me out. It's also a danger and many people never notice the extensive tire wear on the inner part of the front tires until they are worn down to the metal threads. There is a partial solution by replacing the front bushings but it only helps the issue, not necessarily resolves it.
