Car was shaking, slow acceleration, when idling sometimes seemed like it wanted to cut out. About 3 months ago got really bad and died on me coming home. 1 mechanic did diagnostic which he sent me and I can't read it. He said it needs battery and I can get you one for 165.00 etc and I said no I would get one. I didn't trust him and that was all he told me and then charged me 50 more than he said. 2nd mechanic came and looked at car and said it was fuel pump and said having trouble finding part. Never messaged back. Another 75 out of pocket plus prior 125. 3rd mechanic said yes need fuel pump and replaced it. Then nothing and he checked something else and said sorry it needs crank sensor but I'll cover that cost since test didn't catch it at first. Put it in still nothing. Then said maybe some wires, computer or spark plugs. I'm in 1,000 now and 62 yr old disabled woman who still has no car, Dr appts needed, etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated
Where you got a bunch of guys gas and I don't seem to know what the heck they're doing. Unfortunately there's a whole bunch of things that can conk out a car engine. I would advise asking your friends who they use for a mechanic and try their guy. Because I'd have to see the car in person. But if you're somewhere near Portsmouth Rhode Island, that's where I am now for the next few months. I'd gladly look at it for free
Wish I was there and sadly do really know anyone here who knows mechanic
Sadly do not know
