So one of my relatives has a 2017 volkswagen golf and i liked the inside of the car, sound setup, etc. so i started looking at the jetta’s and passats because i don’t like the golf body style personally. Is it a good decision.

The Volkswagen Jetta has a HORRIBLE sound system. Go check it out for youself, its dismal.
I like the Jetta and Passat as well but they don't hold up you should only lease them.
Why can’t you just reupholster & upgrade the audio setup, in your present vehicle?
Scotty has a low opinion of contemporary VWs. Too much "plastic crap," "money pits as they age." VW is not terribly successful in the U.S. precisely because they are too expensive, for what they offer, and too unreliable. You might like Honda Civics or even a Toyota HCR. These are more reliable.
