I bought a 2018 F150 Crew cab, 4 wheel drive, V6 Turbo 3.5, new in January of 2019. The issue I have continue to have is with the 10 speed transmission. The transmission will shift very hard when I'm driving in the hills as I bottom at the valley of the hill and start my ascent, from time to time, not all the time. The other issue I have with the transmission is that upon start up, it will sometimes push the driveshaft hard into the rear end.
The dealer has had is many times and in my last visit last year they overhaul the shift module in the transmission.
My questions is, are you hearing this from other folks and maybe this is just the nature of the 10 speed transmissions and I need to live with it?
Thanks
Dave
Those transmissions are know to have quite a few problems that have resulted in multiple lawsuits.

A GM-Ford joint venture produced the 10-speed automatic and it was an absolute disaster, to the point where GM and Ford will never work together again.

It's definitely not supposed to do that. Even before I had my 1999 Ranger's automatic transmission rebuilt, it never did that. I had 251k miles when I had it rebuilt. It had 292k miles now.

They're trying to fix it through software updates. Ultimately, junk is junk no matter how many times you try to improve it. There's only so many things software updates can do before you admit it's just poorly designed.

They've had numerous recalls affecting that tranny. You're definitely not the only one. It should shift almost seamlessly.
