my neighbor has a 2018 GMC Canyon Denali the transmission is making a shutter when driving the dealer says they are going to do a fluid change and in the past has fixed the problem. what do you thing scotty? thank you
how many miles on the vehicle please?

This is usually the sign of a bad torque converter.

It is likely the torque converter. A fluid change may lessen the issue but will not fix the problem.

does it happen all the time or certain situations like up hills, while shifting etc?
Do you have any trouble lights lit up on the instrument panel?
