2018 Honda Odyssey Touring 10 speed transmission with 36,000 miles. Transmission will not upshift intermittently. It will rev up to extreme rpms and not shift so I must use the paddle shifter to manually shift. This has happened on an intermittent basis since new. Honda dealer keeps blowing me off. Says it must fail while they are test driving it or they can’t fix it. I say they don’t kniw how to diagnose the problem. Any ideas what I should do? I love your channel. Keep up the good work!!
Take the car to a transmission shop who works on these and have them check it.
Did the dealer even bother to check for codes?
how often does it happen?
look for patterns like engine temp, speed, load, the gear, etc.
Have you checked the fluid?
Lose the dealer and find a transmission specialty shop (NOT Midas or Aamco). If the car is under warranty, send the repair bill to the dealer for payment.

And find a different dealer, and contact the local zone office.
And file a complaint with NTHSA (the National Highway and Safety Administration): https://www.nhtsa.gov/
Use Facebook and local media to highlight this, as a consumer problem.
Finally, Scotty has modeled how not to take B.S. from dealerships. Emulate that characteristic, and don't stop until you get the outcome you desire.
