Scotty, My mom is looking at a 2018 Sequoia SR5 with 59,000 miles. She is looking for an SUV type vehicle that sits higher. Live in Minnesota so she wants a vehicle that can get through the snow easily. Is this a good vehicle? Anything to look out for?

Thanks!

Matthew

Those are awesome if you're looking for a giant SUV. The 4WD system on those is very reliable so it should be great for the snow. I would recommend you look at older model years because you will get a much better price - the current Sequoia platform is 13 years old so they haven't changed much since 2008. They don't really have any big problems you have to watch out for - the engine and transmission are bulletproof. If you don't mind the price of a 2018, go ahead and buy it. They are very durable/reliable SUVs.

Related question for you: I realize the SEquoias are bigger than Highlanders but do they sit higher overall? I know 4Runners do. Also, whats better in snow - Highlander or Sequoia?

Ya they do sit higher than the Highlanders. Sequoias also have a much bigger/commanding feel on the road than the Highlander since they're on a truck platform - you really feel like you're in a tank. I would go with the Sequoia for the snow - the 4WD system is more suited for that kind of driving versus the Highlander's AWD system. Plus, you can more easily fit bigger tires on the Sequoia if you wanted to
