[Solved] 2018 Toyota Camry Service Interval

Hey Scotty, I recently purchased a 2018 Camry LE. The dealer said oil changes should be done every 10k miles and the transmission flushed every 100k miles. I know the new 0W-16 synthetic is good oil but I have never taken my gas powered synthetics past 5k miles. Also - the manual states transmission “Fluid and Filter Change” every 50k miles. The dealer said they cannot change the filter. What intervals would you recommend?

I don't take my cars past 5,000 miles even with synthetic oil either. Why risk it just to save a little money.

The dealer is probably hoping you listen, and when the car has issues, you'll buy something else from them..if your manual says change.it at 50k...id do that

The dealer said they cannot change the filter.

The dealer is right. There is no “in place” serviceable parts on the automatic transmission, other than you can drain and refill ATF. There is no oil pan to remove like in some olden Toyotas.

Drain and fill requires about 2-1/2 quarts of Toyota ATF. I plan to do this service every 50,000 kilometres on ‘19 Toyota my family owns. Cheap insurance to keep transmission healthy!

As to the engine oil and filter, … I cut recommended change in 1/2. Recommended is every 16,000 kilometres, … I do it every 8,000 kilometres. Again, cheap insurance to keep engine healthy.

F.S.
