Hi Scotty,
We have a 2019 Honda Pilot Touring and have been searching for a scanner with the capability to support BMS functions including Battery Regeneration, Battery health, CCA, Battery Life, etc. W looked at some of the recommendations from your Amazon store and your YouTube videos with little luck. I have looked at most of the reasonably priced Autel units and have a request into them with the similar question. No response from Autel as of yet. Any recommendation would be appreciated.
Thanks
You might get a second equipment for battery regeneration. If you want to have a capability to testt the battery as well as the OBDII reader, the following may do the job:

Thanks YASER,
I currently have an Autel AL539, not the 539B 🙁
I have a question into AUTEL as to whether their MAXIDIAG MD806 will support the Battery Regeneration function on our Honda. This unit is reasonably priced @ $199 through Amazon. I do not have high confidence that this unit will provide me with the BMS support the I am looking for though.

I am trying to understand why you need this information. If you want CCA or battery life information you can just load test the battery with a tester (ones like Scotty has mentioned before and on his Amazon affiliates page).
The service tech mentioned that any errors that pop up after I replace the battery should go away after a few days of driving when the computer and alternator adjusts to the characteristics of the new battery. I'm not really sure this is true as he could not answer the question of whether the Battery Regeneration (Battery Reset) was even being done by the Honda techs when they replaced a battery.
I usually use an OBDII memory saver to mitigate this.
Well when you want that kind of stuff it can get expensive I have a think tool that does that but it costs $5,500 bucks. Now you might look into the x tool d8 and contact that company tell them Scotty sent you and see if that will do what you want.
Thanks Scotty. I talked with the dealer yesterday and specifically asked about changing out the battery. Any thoughts?
We watch you all the time during the weekends! Love your honesty and insight in car mechanics!!
Regarding Autel, contact one of their authorized dealers http://www.aeswave.com. They can tell you which of the Autel products will do what you want. I have done business with them over the years (including just recently), and they have a technical staff there that responds fairly quick to questions. I know with Autel corporate it can take longer to get answers so I suggest you contact aeswave.com instead.
Thanks DayWalker. I contacted Autel about one of their units but since it is the Chinese Spring Festival, the tech staff is out of the office for another week. I did locate on their site a listing of the vehicles that are supported for specific functions and the Hondas are seriously lacking in most areas including the BMS support. My guess is the techs will say the same thing when I get a response from them. I've looked at the X Tool d8 (Scotty's recommendation) and that unit is not very specific on the battery support. Just purchased a CTEK Multi US 7002 Battery Charger with the power supply function. This will allow me to provide 12 VDC to the battery terminals while replacing the batter. It also specifically supports AGM batteries and adjusts the charging curves so as not to over charge the units. Thanks for the recommendation about AEWAVE...I'll contact them. I have a AL539 scanner from AUTEL but it does not have the battery function.
