2019 Toyota Camry opinions

Scotty, if it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have even thought about getting a Toyota. I have always been a Honda guy. I sold my 2013 Civic to my mom so she could give it to my brother and I used the money for a down payment on a 2019 Toyota Camry SE. Everyone says these are boring cars and my mom even tried talking me out of it saying, “Camrys are old man cars. I used to have one before you were born” and I find it funny how she was comparing a late 90’s Camry to a modern one. This car is definitely not boring especially compared to a base model Civic. The Camry I got has 38k miles and I haven’t noticed the transmission do anything weird at all and I’ve already put 200 miles on it in the last couple days. I have kinda been flooring it here and there to get a feel for the car. This thing is amazing ! Gets almost as good of gas mileage as the Civic but way more comfortable, more space, more power, and it’s easier to drive than the Civic. Are there any known issues with the computers and all that though ?

Nothing really bad to say about them. I was between the 2020 Camry TRD and the 2020 Accord 2.0T Sport. Wound up going Accord for the extra power and an excellent deal that I was offered. So far so good. But I really like the Camry as well. The wife has one, but it is a '15. Good car.

Well honestly, it’s still too early to tell. They haven’t had any problems yet, which is a good sign.

I agree, the latest generation Camry is no slouch! Looks are subjective though.

Don’t worry friend, take care of it and it will last longer than anything else made today. You made the right purchase, no disrespect to your Mother.

Looking here it seems electrical/electronic issues are rare.  This generation is still somewhat new so long term it’s not clear what kind of electronics issues will manifest themselves, but compared to other automakers they are in better shape.

I'd hope with those miles you didn't have any issues...camrys are reliable, but .more.of a honda person. Not saying I don't like toyota, I do love the new corolla wagon in a standard, best I think out of the affordable toyotas

I am pretty mixed since I like the Civic more than the Corolla but I also like the Camry more than the Accord. As of now, I’ve already put 630 miles on the car in the first 3 days but it’s pretty typical for me to drive my cars A LOT in the first week I have them.

My wife has an orange 09 fit 5 spd.. we love it..179k miles and runs perfect. She works at an office during the day but she works for grubhub some nights,so

it gets a lot of miles doing deliveries
