AC isn't cold

My son recently bought a 2019 toyota corolla (I believe the SE?) and the AC wasnt very cold so he tried added freon, didnt really need any so a few weeks later, he replaced the compressor (they've replaced AC systems on our older toyota camrys and some ford rangers so they know how to do it properly) AC is still not working (just blowing warm air (Houston Tx area so its just temp of outside air) They are really stumped! They've never seen an issue like this. (They have the vacuum pump to vacuum the lines too I dont know much about them so i have no clue what all they've done), only that he's changed the compressor and its still not working 🙁 Its HOT here, my daughter in law needs AC

Any ideas what might be the issue?

Have you all checked all fuses and relays for the A/C? If it’s not fuses or relays you're probably going to want to check wiring. Also do you mean by “only that he's changed the compressor and it's still not working” that the compressor isn’t kicking on at all? But you might just want to take this to a few shops and have them look at it they would have more tools and either equipment to properly inspect everything.

Did you even check if the car is engaging the compressor clutch before replacing that much pricy parts on a 4 year old car?

he replaced the compressor

Why? That's the last thing one should think about replacing, after doing appropriate diagnosis to determine that it was at fault. Not likely to be a problem on a 2019 model.

I hope he didn't use one of those so-called "recharge cans" that have a cheap useless low-side gauge and are frequently loaded with potentially damaging sealers. A friend of mine destroyed his Toyota AC system with one of those things years ago.
