My wife and I are trying to decide on our next family vehicle. It’s either 2020 Ford Expedition with the only engine choice- 3.5 EcoBoost 2nd generation with port and DI. Or 2021 Chevy Tahoe with 5.3 V8, and typical GM quality. Which is the lesser evil? We keep cars 10 years and 100-150 thousand miles. I have a 2013 Ford F-150 with the 5.0 V8 and it has been great for 116 thousand miles. If ford put that engine in the Expedition it would be a no brainer.
If you have to choose between those, go with the GM because of the engine.
You may also consider Toyota Sequoia too.
Get the Chevy with the 5.3, it's a great engine.
The Expedition’s eco boost engine is garbage. The Chevy Tahoe has a good engine but everything else on the vehicle is garbage. If you plan to get rid of it after 10 years or 150,000 miles, it probably doesn’t matter which one you get though.
