68,900 miles. How much oil is acceptable or normal on outside of engine? It is not dripping on the ground, but there is oil below the top part of engine. I don’t know the name of the top part

No oil at all should be coming out of your engine. Up to half a quart per 5,000 miles is pretty much normal for oil burning. Piston rings don't create a perfect seal, especially modern ones.

If it's near the top of the engine, you have a leaking valve cover gasket. Replace it. Here's a Hayne's manual for the Compass:
@justin-shepherd thank you, you’re very kind

None.

The "top part" is the valve cover. (At least that's the topmost part. One could also say the cylinder head is the top part of the engine.)

Valve cover gasket leaks are relatively common. You can use UV dye in the oil to help find the actual source of the leak.
