2021 Camaro 1SS

Hey Scotty,

I currently have a 2018 Mustang GT, Coyote V8 Gen 3, 6-Speed Manual Transmission. You praised this car with the improvements in 2018 when it first came out. Recently, I told you about how a rattle sound comes from the engine bay. Us enthusiasts have named it the "2k Rattle". Some say piston slap, some say rod knock, others say it's just a harmonics issue. Ford says they know what the problem is, there's no fix needed, but then they also won't tell you what it is. Sounds a lot like when they sold Focus/Fiesta's for years with faulty transmissions right?

I know what you think about Chevy quality and products... but what do you think about a 2021 Camaro SS with the 6.2L V8 and a 6-Speed Manual made by Tremec... which is a fantastic brand. Do you think it would be a good product, or would the car be brought down by other things in the long run?

Thanks for everything Scotty!

If you think Ford quality is down jam qualities even further inside the pit.I know where Camaros are fun to drive but they do not hold up overtime

GM quality has been pretty bad.  I’d avoid the Camaro.  Some of the engines for 2021 MY (LT1 in that Camaro for example) had a bad batch of valve springs. Even their halo car C8 has been off to a bad start.  An issue with the current Gen Camaros has been the hot start issue (I.e. car won’t start when hot) for which there is a class action lawsuit, but recently a Camaro forum member came up with a solution (why GM never figured it out who knows).

Thanks for the feedback Scotty and DayWalker! I just don't know what to do. My car rattles like crazy from 2-3k RPMS on light throttle and it sounds horrible. There's posts about this noise on Mustang forums by THOUSANDS of people with 2018 Mustang GTs and newer.... I've taken my car to the dealer and they won't do anything other than ride in the car with me and say "it's normal". The only way to avoid the noise is drive like a complete maniac all the time... it never happens under wide open throttle
