Hi Scotty,
I'm looking for a efficient small engine bike to learn riding on. Currently i'm looking at Honda cbe125s, cbr250 and I will be looking at a yamaha virago 250 tomorrow. I have really long legs and I think the virago might be more comfortable to ride on, it has 84,000 km (52200 miles) and is going for $2000 AUD (1544 USD), is 52200 miles a lot for a motorcycle and is it a good deal?
Thanks, Henry.
Any Japanese motorcycle (with less than 250cc) is great for learning. The lighter, the better. About the mileage, if they are taken care of, they can last. Check all the maintenance records, (oil change, batteries, adjustments, chain replacements,...)
Unlike cars, motorcycles are easier to maintain and people who ride more, usually have passion about their ride and take care of their motorcycle. Just make sure you take it to a motorcycle shop to check it out.
Ninja 250. They are dirt cheap, easy to find, and bulletproof. Just regular maintenance they will last forever.
