So last week, I noticed that the front emblem on my 2021 Toyota Corolla LE was slightly cracked. To give more angles and lighting effect to the crack, I decided to take a ~30 second video.

I've only owned the car for about 4 months so far, and I have only so far put about a 1000 miles on it, so obviously I'm not happy to see it cracked so soon.

I'm aware that behind this front emblem is the radar sensor for the Adaptive Cruise Control system. Not sure if the cracking could get worse and start impacting that, but that worry does come to mind.

I tried to Google around to see if others were having issues, but all I found is related to the 2019 Toyota Supra of all models.

• According to some people, there is a manufacturing defect that causes the emblems to sometimes have cracking occur out of nowhere
• They also claim that swapping out the emblem requires a bunch of front-end parts removal, and is a "leave keys with the dealer overnight" type of job

Under normal circumstances, I might assume I just got unlucky and a small rock hit the emblem just the right way to cause this crack. However, maybe these emblems do have some sort of quality defect, such as what people reported on the Supra in that linked form post.

I never like leaving vehicles with dealerships, but I'm thinking that might be the best way to go here. I assume this should be covered under warranty, as long as I keep my foot down and express frustration with the issue.

On the other side, if a bunch of other people say "Hey, happened to me too", "On my 4th emblem now", etc. then it's probably a waste of time to try to get the emblem swapped...just to have it crack again in a couple of months.

This is probably silly, but I'm also worried about them cracking grill plastic, damaging the seals that keep water out of the headlights, etc. trying to do this job.

So, if anyone is familiar with Toyota and cracked front emblems in general, I'm hoping you can advise me on what you did. Please let me know if you have any questions first.
