Why you should never buy the first model year

I love the redesign, looks amazing. HATE Ecoboost motors. Glad it has a manual option. Has WAY to much cheap tech and electronics.

Overall I think it will be a decent off roader when everything is working correctly. With that being said it will be a very costly off roader to repair and maintain when it does start breaking.

The more potent engine (2.7L Ecoboost V6) only comes with the 10-speed AT. The lesser 2.3L Ecoboost I4 comes with the optional manual.

@daywalker yes correct, why Ford decided this I don’t understand 🤔. What’s the problem with offering a manual in all trim levels? I mean they’re going to sell a ton of these anyway but if manual was offered across the board I think it would definitely be a contender with the competition. That 10 speed has been a disaster. It does have potential and I believe it could actually be a decent transmission if Ford would just take accountability and fix and perfect on the issues the 10R80 has.

USAFdozerpilot - you actually like the looks of this toad?  It's almost as bad as the Tesla pickup.

@Doc absolutely, now I’m not talking about the sport, that’s a mistake. The true bronco is meaty and in your face. Its honestly just a modern early 90s bronco look, boxy and crisp. And please do not call that silicone valley trash a pickup haha.

My apologies.

Best to avoid first years of a new generation.  Not a fan of the Ecoboost or 10-speed AT (in the more potent engines).  Hopefully, Toyota brings back the FJ Cruiser.

The Ford Bronco looks like a FJ Cruiser with shingles and has all the electronic crap on it that is guaranteed to make your ownership of this vehicle a complete nightmare.  Good luck.
