Hi!
I’m considering buying the 2021 Jazz hybrid. 1.5 and 109 hp with automatic transmission. I would prefer the standard but there’s no such thing with the hybrid.
what are your thoughts on that? Any suggestions?
Thank you

assuming you’re out side of the US, as the new Fit/Jazz is not available on that market,
Have you considered a Yaris Hybrid?
It’s pretty much objectively better in every way, and I find it to be better subjectively.
Although Honda’s hybrid system is interesting form a technological perspective, Toyota’s system is proven to be great.
As far the transmission, Honda i-MMD consists of two electric motors and nothing else so it does not offer a manual because there’s no need to connect the engine to the wheels - it’s just a generator for the electric drivetrain.
Im not a fan of the Yaris but i actually like corolla hybrid a lot and here in Germany i can find some with the same price of a new jazz hybrid.
The thing with the automatic transmission is that i don’t know them. I don’t know about their reliability. I always used standard ones but after all it’s a toyota, it must be good
The Corolla is much better than the Jazz.
Especially the Estate / Trek variants as they offer unmatched practicality for their class and efficiency.
Aditonally you can also consider the Yaris Cross, it isn’t as ugly as the regular Yaris, but similarly to it, it doesn’t have any advantages over the Corolla and it’s only a 3 cylinder but it does have some charm to it.
Remember that with a Corolla Hybrid you should only get one that’s not old, and preferably with a 1.8L engine - not the 1.5L 3 cylinder.
With Honda the reliability of the i-MMD and the hybrid system in general is unclear (I’ve herd of glitches and battery degradation on the older lager Hondas, no info yet on the new ones), while the Corollas eCVT has proven to be reliable (given proper service).
(European Toyota’s often have subpart engines and transmissions - but the 1.8L Atkinson is solid and it gets good economy.)
I booked a test drive with the corolla hybrid 2.0 but i prefer the 1.8 because of tax reasons and also price
The 1.8L Hybrid?
It be regular 1.8 is a bit ‘meh’.
The 1.8 hybrid hatchback
Yep! That’s as good as they get.
I was talking about mileage, price and if it's being sold at a private party or dealership.
@kp perhaps he is asking generally. I do so too.
