2021 Nissan Rogue SV AGM Battery Replacement

I just bought a Rogue and the battery died. I went to a parts store to get one but they said the battery needs professional installation. From what I can tell, it needs a memory saver hooked up then you can replace the battery. Is that correct? It seems crazy they have made it where you can't even replace your own battery anymore. Is it best to let a dealer replace it?

A memory saver is hardly professional equipment, it's a low-cost gadget that keeps computer memory and the car's settings alive with a trickle of current while the battery is disconnected. Most use a transistor battery and just plug into the OBD2 port.

Some vehicles do require programming with a scan tool when replacing the battery but I don't believe that's the case with the Rogue.
