Small Cadillac SUV. Major repairs with expensive parts. already, she's paid over $2K on repairs. More major problems coming? Be best to trade it?

You've given us virtually nothing to go on. You have not even provided the information asked for in the posting instructions. So we have no idea what year or model Cadillac you have, the mileage on it, or what problem you are having with it.
In general, modern Cadillacs are not exactly the most reliable vehicles around. The generic advice in most cases (aside from not buying one in the first place) would be to get rid of it. However as stated there's really not enough information presented to be more specific than that.
