I have a 2008 Toyota Corolla (290,000 miles) with the Airbag light on. My mechanic diagnosed it as a bad left front crash sensor. Will the light go out if I replace it myself or do I need the mechanic to erase the code to turn off the light?

The light should go out once the problem is fixed. But if I were you , I would make sure it really is the sensor, and not the wiring. And only use Toyota Denso sensors.
