My 2026 SE is a month old with 1K miles and it began to squeak when going at very low speeds (0-5 MPH), notably in reverse. Has anyone else had this problem?? I’ve seen that the 2025 SE had problems and many in the Toyota Forums have pointed to the axle/seal that causes the squeak. I am worried if it will create bigger problems down the line.
Since the car is new and under warranty have you had the dealer check it out?
@chucktobias I went on Saturday but they told me to return after MLK when Toyota is open so they can properly diagnose, I plan on going either tomorrow (1/21) or Thursday (1/22) to get more recordings of it.
I would not be surprised if the dealership tries to blow you off. (they are incentivized to do so). You may need pay out of pocket for an independent mechanic to find the issue. When he does, photograph it, document it and send it off to Toyota corporate and try to get compensation.
So I just received my vehicle back from service and they told me that they tested two other cars of the same model and they also make the squeaking noise after a long drive. I am still 100% sure that this is not a normal sound and it's possibly that its a problem when they're manufacturing the vehicle. Don't know what to do from now, maybe go to another toyota service in town, heard others get they're axle seals replaced when they inform them about this specific noise.
@k9inho You might try contacting Toyota's corporate customer support.
