Not so much a question, but will be the start of a long term ownership updates of the ups and downs of owning a new soace age Hyundai like the boxy and kinda fugly in a good way, Santa Fe Ultimate Calligraphy. From its dual fuel injection system to it medium sized turbo on a small 4 cylinder to its 8 speed dual clutch transmission. I will be keeping Scotty and all of you up to date on anything that happens! I paid $48xxx plus taxes and other fees. Took one for the team! I did not trade in my 2013 Toyota Highlander Ltd v6 awd though. We kept it. 293000kms on it. Its such a tank! In fact Scotty if i can get across the border, i would love to bring you my new Santa Fe to check it out! I also have the worst suv made, a 2010 chevy equinox ltz v6 fwd. its an absolute rolling pile of doodoo, but its still driving with 267000kms on it. Original timing chains and all. Anyways thought id let yall know im back and starting a long term study on the new Hyundai stock! Take care! Til next time my friends!
Just curious why you would bother joining a car care forum? 😁
that's what I'm wondering. This forum is for car help questions, not influencing or whatever

You've have sent, or are sending, all these cars to the scrapyard-I buy cars intending to send them to the graveyard(scrapyard) when i am done with them. I beat on them. Late oil changes.

@hixster I have sent every single one of those cars to the scrapyard except the except the Highlander and equinox and Mustang and F150. I've been watching on YouTube since 2007 and I am an original member when the site started and I clearly stayed in my post that this is not a question but more of a long-term study for everybody to know the quality of the new Santa Fe so I don't understand what the problem is here I found more cars in the list. I have on my list, but it's just too many.
@the-real-vr I believe you missed my point. The number of cars one owns isn't important. This forum helps people with questions about car care and if you're not concerned about something as essential to a car's longevity as timely oil changes, why bother with a car care forum at all.
From its dual fuel injection system to it medium sized turbo on a small 4 cylinder
All I can say is, good luck with that. Hyundai builds pretty crappy SUVs, too. A former co-worker bought a brand-new 2021 Hyundai Kona and it was a pile of junk. He sold it last year. The only reason that Santa Fe has any pep whatsoever is because of that turbocharger.
8 speed dual clutch transmission.
You better not creep forward with that transmission with your foot half on the brakes like you can with a conventional automatic. That will tear up the clutches in the transmission in a hurry; DCTs are dry clutch transmissions, there's no fluid-filled torque converter. Torque converters can slip when you're moving slowly with no long-term problems. It's a fluid-based coupling. DCTs can't do that. There is also a recall affecting those transmissions: Recall 263Information and Implementation Plan | MyHyundai
@justin-shepherd i know all about hyundai. I have spare money to waste. I live rural and never drive in city traffic. The DCT was a software issue and was fixed with an update. Its very peppy because of a medium sized high pressure turbo. I know how a dct works and how an automatic transmission works as well. I own some of the best and worst cars as experiments. 2013 highlander ltd awd with 293,000kms. 2010 equinox ltz v6 fwd with 240,000kms. 2008 f150 xlt 3v 5.4 v8 with 477,000kms, 97 mustang gt vertible with 2v 4.6 v8 with 331,000kms. Now i have a 2024 santa fe ultimate calligraphy with 24,000kms. I buy cars intending to send them to the graveyard(scrapyard) when i am done with them. I beat on them. Late oil changes. Etc. when you got expendable money, owning cars becomes an experiment. Oh i also have a 2008 hyundai sonata limited v6 just about to hit 207,000kms. Never had to repair much on any of vehicles. Must be good luck. Knock on wood! I will update and let you know how the Santa Fe's durability is though!
