Can I make my 2021 RAV4 engine quieter

I, like you, feel Toyota makes the best overall vehicles

I just purchased a 2021 RAV4 XLE premium (non hybrid) and I was aware of the engine noise when accelerating.

Is there any noise abatement that will help without voiding the factory warranty- such as some sort of sound insulator packing for hood or other parts of vehicle?

I love the vehicle but the loud engine noise during even light acceleration is disappointing.

Enjoy your videos-

The answer is yes.  There are a number of sound deadening products you can put down under the carpet up to the firewall and in the doors.  The industry standard is called Dynamat, but there are many competitors.  And yes, there are a number of sound-reducing hood liners, too.

Just be aware that neither the material nor installation will be cheap.  And also it will not make your Rav4 a luxury car; probably realistic to expect -5/10 dB.

That engine noise in your new car is there included by design. Yes! It’s a direct injection part of a fuel system: plunger-type fuel pump! If you take that foamy-plastic cover - Toyota’s attempt at engine noise abatement - from the top of the engine and look to a top right of  the cylinder head, you will see that shiny doohickey, … that’s it: a high pressure direct injection pump. You are now stuck with it, … for as long as you will own your car! No mercy, …
