2022 Honda Civic Si Engine Reliability

Good Morning,

I recall you saying you wouldn't advise getting a car with a turbo engine under 2.0L. Do you still feel the same way? Do you think I can rely on this car, generally speaking? I've always had good luck with Honda in the past.

Regards,

Honda makes great engines and the 2.0 liter turbo is a good engine but you should realize that the turbo goes out at some point. If you want a engine that has minimum repair cost, stick to the natuarally aspirated ones.

Scotty answers this below. In short if you want turbo then Honda turbo over other ones out there.

I wouldn't. I would look at something else.

Why though, out of curiosity?

A tiny engine with a turbocharger is not going to last long when compared to a naturally aspirated one. I agree with yaser's statement.

Does it have to be an Si? I thought the Si came with a 1.5 Turbo, not a 2.0 Turbo?

If you look at other Civic trims, it may carry a 2.0 Naturally Aspirated K Engine.

You are correct that the Si comes with 1.5L turbo and not 2.0L turbo.
