[Solved] 2025 Camry Oil Change Service Recommendation

Hi Scotty,

I did  my  first oil change  & tire  rotation at the Toyota Dealership last fall in 2025, at 4,998  miles.

My  vehicle is a 2025  Toyota Camry LE front wheel drive. Presently the  vehicle  has 8,267 miles.

The  Motor Oil is 0W8 Synthetic, which is a  very  thin viscosity.

I understand that  Toyota recommends the  Oil Service at every 10,000 miles.

I have discovered that 0W8 Motor Oil  loses it's viscosity  at 5,000   to 8,000  miles depending on driving  conditions.

My  friend who  is an ASE  Certfied Mechanic suggested that I service the  engine oil & filter at  every  4,000  miles.

I do a  combination of City & Highway  Driving, averaging about 7,000 miles  per year in South Florida.

Toyota  Care  includes  free maintenance at :  0-25,000  miles  which is the  first  - 2 years.  Rotation  + Inspection.

2 - Free Oil Change services  at 10,000 and 20,000 miles.

15,000  and 25,000 miles  tire  rotation.

The Vehicle is Garaged  at  night.

What   do you   suggest?

Best  regards,

Lane

Listen to your mechanic friend, not Toyota. Oil is cheap, engines are extremely expensive. Ignore claims that you only need to change the oil 10k miles. If your car is turbocharged, the turbo requires clean oil or you will prematurely wear that turbo out. They cost $$$ to replace.

@justin-shepherd, Thanks for your response. All 2025 Toyota Camry Vehicles are a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder hybrid engine. Available in front wheel drive or awd. They do not have a turbo charger. My vehicle is fwd. and a hybrid drivetrain.

Frequent early oil changes and then every 5000 miles thereafter: check out The Motor Oil Geek for an experts opinion

Most motor oil additive packages start breaking down after 5000 miles, hence the 5K mile interval recommendation.
