I have Toyota Prado 2.7L 2015 200,000km driven. I recently changed all the fluids, sparkplugs, coils, pulleys, thermostat, waterpump, belt, drip cleaned injectors, fuel and all the other filters. Water spray test for vacuume leak and visual inspection for exhaust leak.
It runs with stable +16% LTFT and nearly +-1% STFT. What can be the reason and how to solve it please?
Okay, the short-term fuel trim is hardly any but the long-term is a whole bunch. That generally means you have a restriction of fuel at higher speeds which would be a clogged fuel filter 8-week fuel pump or clogged up fuel injectors. Pressure test the fuel pump to see if it's weak. If not, try some good fuel cleaner like my friend Bernie's ATS fuel cleaner. It will often clean injectors out if they're clogged up and don't spray at high speeds enough
First of all Mr. Scotty thank you so very much. It is my first question on your forum. I am following your advice for more than 10 years now (YouTube). They have benefited me a lot, always.
The interesting thing is that LTFT remains stable at all RPM ranges with a deviation of not more than +-2%. Shall I still start with fuel pressure check and then clean injectors?
@shahzadsaleem yes. Scotty usually answers only once.
@G.T. Thank you so very much.
