Differential fluid change

I have a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit model with V6 engine and 43,000 miles.  The dealer wants to change the front and rear differential fluid.   The car is not used off road or for towing and may be in bumper to bumper traffic in Chicago about 4-6 days per month.   I know you’re not a fan of transmission fluid change what about the differentials?   Thanks SG

Why wouldn't you want to change the differential fluid? It's normal maintenance. (Also saying "not a fan" of transmission fluid changes is over-simplifying that issue. Details can be found in the FAQ.)

The car is not used off road

both axles are always spinning whether you offroad or not. City driving is pretty hard on a car too. It falls under "severe service" in most owners manuals.

Where on Earth did you get that idea? Scotty tells people the exact opposite. Gotta keep on those fluid changes. He changes the fluid in his Toyotas often.

maintenance is maintenance.

You manual says change it at 48k.  Might as well do the transmission too, if you want it to last. Especially if it's a Jeep

Eventually you'll have the transfer case as well.
