What are your thoughts of newly redesigned 2027 Silverado/Sierra 1500? Although they haven't started selling yet maybe by late 2026 but featuring a fully redesigned V8 engines with 5.7L and 6.6L that produces more power than previous gen V8. As far as what I read online, it has cylinder deactivation but it has completely different design unlike AFM that prone to collapsible lifters in previous gen V8 and it has a 10 speed automatic but they haven't released fully specs yet.

recent GM V8 problems go beyond lifters. And they're grenading with less than 1,000 miles (bottom end . nothing to do with lifters). They've been under NHTSA investigation for some time.

produces more power than previous gen

squeezing more power from these old designs is not a good idea in my opinion.

That's not even getting into transmissions.

it has a 10 speed automatic

the one that was recalled?

I would steer clear of it, and really any 1/2 ton truck these days.
