2014 buick verano premium 2.0 l turbo
Greetings Scotty,
I cannot seem to get my heating ac to work. I have replaced the dash control module the resistor and the blower motor fuses w brand new parts. It still wont work. What else can I do to get it working? Could it be a relay thats not listed in the book? Or is there something else I need to replace? Very frustrating cant get an answer in my hometown Im very mechanically inclined do most of my own work/ maintenance on my vehicles. Thank you

Did those parts test as bad? Is the problem that your blower motor doesn't work, or is your HVAC completely inoperative? Ideally you would use a sufficiently advanced bidirectional scan tool to test the components since it's all computer operated.
Yes Blower motor was shot I replaced the resistor nothing so I moved on replaced the dash controls. Nothing works. I cannot afford that type of scan tool. My mechanic I use to use retired and no one will just scan my car here in Gillette wyoming without a promise to let them fix it and Cash up front. I cannot afford that. I must fix it myself.
How do you fix a U0164-00 lost communication w hvac control module code?
If there is nothing obvious like worn or corroded wires or connectors you'd need a professional-grade bidirectional scan tool to diagnose that.
I must fix it myself.
Do you have a scanner that picked up any HVAC codes at all? (Most inexpensive scanners probably would not read those.)
With that complex computer-controlled HVAC setup and no scan tool that can test modules and components that's a bit of a problem. If you've watched Scotty's videos you've seen that an appropriate scanner will quickly check all modules in a vehicle and report problems. Without something like that you are going to need a wiring diagram and attempt to trace the fault using a test light and multimeter.
Here is an online service manual for the 2013 Verano, which is the same generation as yours and should be similar:

You might also purchase a low-cost 30-day subscription to ALLDATAdiy which will have all of the specific service information for your vehicle. Another possibility is that if you have an Autozone store in your area they may be willing to print out the necessary wiring diagram(s) for you since Autozone owns Alldata. They may also have a scanner good enough that it can pick up codes from the HVAC system.
Possibly one of the other users or staff members here (maybe @jack62) might have more detailed information you can use in your situation.
Thank you Chuck Ill try that next.
I did find a bidirectional scan tool on amazon I can buy for $372. Its a topdon 2024 seems all right. Ill just have to eat ramen noodles for a month or 2 🤣. Thanks again
Before spending that money I would check with the manufacturer to see if it can do what you need. Also see our site FAQ for scan tool recommendations.
I will thanks
