Hi Scotty,
I'm looking at purchasing an older F-150. Any opinions on which engine you would choose and why? Thanks, Joe

It all depends on what you're using it for. The 3.7L Cyclone is pretty potent for a V6. I have the same engine in my 2017 Mustang. It's naturally aspirated, not turbocharged, and it utilizes ordinary fuel injection. EcoBoost engines are only powerful for their size as long as everything is working. If either the turbocharger or direct injection give out, the trucks will be a dog.
If you do little towing, the V6 will be fine. If you do a lot of towing, get the V8. The 3.7L is basically a miniature V8 on its own. It has 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. It drives my Mustang from 0-60 in 5 seconds.
