other advice was spot on you better off with the car you can get a good one a lot better than an SUV and that price range but if you have to get an SUV in that range you might try like a Ford explorer and hope it lasts a while
I looked at a rust free 1968 International Travelall and they wanted $10,000 for it. Plus, a Camry will get better fuel economy

If it is for work and don’t care what it looks like, you can look for one that has faded paint, scratch bumper, and/or some hail damage. Cosmetic issues can significantly reduce the price. Best of luck
You could get a good Chevy Trailblazer for that price. I know it is a Chevy, but those were made pretty solid and the drivetrains were known to run a LONG time.
