What is your opinion of performing an ECU Tune on a new 2023 Tacoma V6 in order to make it shift better and perform better?  Specifically the Overland version or a competitor.  Is it safe, reliable and will it need updating continually or the years, is the cost worth it?  Will it require an upgrade in octane to 91 or can it use the 87 that is recommended on the factory req.

there's no free lunch. "Tunes" always come with trade-offs, being it durability or reliability. Unless you're using it to win races or something (racing a pickup?), I don't think it's worth it and it'll void your warranty.
