I have a 2015 gmc serria , the instrument panel always shows the vehicle being in 4 wheel drive even when it is in 2 wheel drive. The vehicle does shift from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive with no problems. How do I get the instrument panel to show it's in 2 wheel drive. I tried putting the vehicle in neutral and turning the knob to (n), the (n) never lit up. I also tried disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. Any suggestion on how to correct this?
I would assume there's a short and the switch somewhere so that it's feeding back and saying that it's on when it isn't on. That would be the only cheap fix. Other than that, you'd have to trace the wiring and it could even be a problem in a computer driver circuit. Usually that's just a switch gone bad partially.
