I am considering new 4X4 Tacoma pick up. 4 cly, No stick as a option. Don't need tow capability. Just don't wondering if 6 cly would be more reliable.

Thank you for your show and advice.

The 6 Cyl is good but if you don't need one the 4 cyl is also solid.

I remember this was asked before, have you tried the search bar (top right)?

They are both bullet proof

Yeah, if you want the manual, need to get the V6 for a brandy new one. 2018 was the last year base Taco 4x4 came with a manual.

I would go V6.

I'd also bet absolutely no one reading this will be surprised by that choice. {black}

Both are fine to get with respect to reliability, but depends on your application.  I would personally get the V6 for more capability (especially if off-roading, towing, driving in the mountains, etc.).  If you know the vehicle will be under strain, it’s better to get the more powerful engine.

I will get the 4 cyl. Six cyls can be a pain in the as....to work on if you are a diy person

What makes them harder to work on? I know for the transverse mounted ones (in FWD Toyota/Lexus vehicles) it can be a pain to get to the spark plugs in the back (near firewall).
