4R100 bypass tube

2003 F250 4x4 5.4 auto 165k

Can the bypass safely be eliminated? I'm worried about the line integrity as all others have failed. 

Going by the part number I'm only getting a bypass valve, not the tube. Also a question pertaining to the sheet talking about the washers which happen to be crunchy plastic about the thickness of construction paper, beaten & leaky...am I reading this right that no washer or o-ring should be used? Seems odd although the two materials used are brass & steel.

Well sure as long as you're cooler stays fine doesn't get clogged up. The bypass valve is there in case the cooler gets clogged up and then stops flow
