Alright guys, hear me out. I bought a 2004 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 with about 173000 miles on it about 2 weeks ago. Everything was running fine(except for a small radiator leak) all I’ve done is change 1 O2 sensor(I was getting a code for it) changed my spark plugs, radiator, and thermostat. And now the thing has trouble turning over. Cranks fine and when it does turn over the thing runs like it’s brand new but it takes a good 10-15 tries to start it. My friend thought I just got some bad spark plugs so we got new ones, spaced them correctly and the thing started first try. But 10 minutes later it would again not want to turn over. Any ideas what happened?
Clean your throttle body and see how it does. Also what plugs are you buying. They gotta be same as what was in originally. You just can’t take what the auto store hands you. Half the time they always try give me the wrong parts. I looked up your truck....
NGK LFR6AIX-11 or Denso K16TR11. I’d go with the Denso’s because thats what it probably had brand new. You could also call the Dealer see what plugs they come back with. Different plugs have different resistances, different heat ranges etc...
