2009 Ford Expedition EL Limited 99803 miles. 6R80 Transmission. Rear Wheel Drive.

Should I put 5W-20 (Owner's Manual Recommended) or 5W-30 for my next oil change? (Looked all over the internet, everybody has their own opinion. I only trust Scotty's and Scotty's forum's opinions specific to the vehicle.)

Once the oil type is settled: Which oil brand is actually the best? (And filter)

Use the type of oil specified in the owner's manual. Any leading brand will be fine.

Those engines are extremely sensitive to the way they are maintained.

@chucktobias Interesting to see the video you attached has a bunch of people saying they git over 300k miles on their engine trouble free doing 5W-30.

I'll go ahead, use 5W-20 as recommended, and see what's the cheapest leading brand between Amazon Costco and Walmart and buy the best value out there. and get motorcraft oil filter.

@abacus Apparently they can last if one is rigorous with maintenance. The trouble is that buying a used one you don't necessarily know if that's been done. Those engines don't tolerate any lapse in frequent oil changes.
