scotty i have a 2016 vw gti that only has 29k miles on it and has the DSG 'auto' transmission.  the powertrain warranty is up next month.

how well do the vw gti's age and do i need to worry about the DSG auto tranny?

It's been a great car so far and i've only had to do battery and tires but i wonder if they have issues in that 5-10 year range of ownership?

YES!!

The DSG transmission is one of the worst transmissions on this planet! You don’t need to take my word for it, just Google it & you’ll find plenty of horror stories all around the globe regarding VAG’s notorious DSG transmission, which also has a class action lawsuit against it.

Unless you don’t mind paying fat repair bills, out of warranty, I’d get rid of it ASAP & let the new owner deal with any DSG mechatronic failures, out of his pocket.

If you must have another Golf, lease another brand new one. And get rid of it too, before the warranty is up.

Seriously, Google it & find out for yourself.
