hi. my car is a 2010 skoda fabia vrs with 75k from ( runs on the same stuff as a polo gti). it has a 7 speed DSG. there is a rhythmical noise comming from the gearbox, at idle it sounds like a duck, when i apply a small amount of revs the noise chatters faster, until the engine sound blocks it out. this also only happens when the car is hot. 2 places couldnt find anything wrong and sent me away. i just realised when i turn on the AC the noise totally goes. do you have any ideas what this could be? thank you, glen.
Well if you turn on the AC and the noise goes away it's probably the AC clutch when you have the AC turned off the AC clutch is turned off and the belt spins on the AC clutch bearing. When you turn the AC on it doesn't use the AC clutch bearing instead it's using all the bearings inside the compressor which are now running
thank you so much!! i have found the part for just over 50 but everywhere is telling me to replace the entire compressor. should they be able to replace just the clutch or should i go ahead and have the conpressor changed? thanks again 🙂 you are a legend!!
