Scotty,

my 16yo son just bought a 1986 Fiero GT with the 2.8 V6 and an automatic transmission with 86000mi for $3000. It has been very well taken care of, all of the known fire causing issues fixed, and been kept in a garage for 90% of its life. in order to drive the car home he had to replace the front wheel bearings, get new tires and an oil change. After doing all of this he drove the car from Eastern Washington to northern Nevada, on the trip the thermal sending unit for the cooling fan relay trigger went out and he had to jump the fan circuit to prevent from over heating. The car is very clean and well maintained otherwise. Did he get a good deal and is this car worth holding on to as a collectors item?

Also the car has all the bells and whistles that came in the 86, removable glass top, all power accessories.

Well they're fun toys they might appreciate somewhat and value but realize they were mass-produced car so as to whether they'll ever be a collector's item that's up in here especially with such an underpowered engine.
