Hi Scotty I have a 1988 Nissan 300zx gs n/a I just bought it’s supo to have 56k on new engine car runs really good after I replaced plugs, cleaned throttle body, iac valve and fuel filter. I’m picking up new plug wires tomorrow due to having to order them. I’m curious if this could be caused by a faulty throttle position sensor? It was missing badly before I did this work, now it only misses when first starting up. Once I’ve driven it it straightens out until I start it again.

I’m certain the trans is fine it has receipts for $1800 of trans work and seems to shift smooth.  The 70 year old man I bought it from used to work on these when he was younger.

Zillions of things can make it do that but more often they lose at full power it's a clogged fuel filter a weak fuel pump or bad fuel injectors realize you bought a really old complex electronically fuel injected car
