95 Camry V6 transmission fluid change?

Hi. I have a 95 Camry LE 3.0l V6 with 140k miles. It shifts well and smoothly with no slipping. Bought it 2 years ago and did have not changed the transmission fluid before (not sure how the original owner maintained it). I want to keep it for a long time. Thinking of doing a transmission fluid drain and fill (not a flush) and I can confidently do this myself. Is it a good idea? Any specific things I should be looking out for or be careful of?

If the fluid is clean I would do the full flush. You have a 25 year old vehicle with nothing to loose. Toyota’s really don’t have an issue with fluid at high mileage like yours.

Just make sure they or you use synthetic fluid.

Thanks @Oneimich. One more thing. The car's manual says to use DEXRON II. I'm not even sure where to get that. I was wondering whether I should use Toyota WS and later found that it is not synthetic. So my question is: Which synthetic oil specification is the best for a 95 V6 Camry? I will be doing this myself so all I need is to get the right fluid for the car.

Thanks again.

Sorry for the delay, any parts store should have it, are sure it’s full synthetic.

Don't do a flush on a tranny that old... The pressure used when flushing it isn't good for it...

he specifically says he won't flush in his question

Oneimich said to flush it. That's why I said it

have you ever done a flush?

Nope, always just fluid and filter change, then drain and fills shortly after so most of the fluid is new.
