[Solved] '96 Celica Knock Sensor code won't go away, Wiring?

Hey everybody,

I own a '96 Celica ST w/MT and 264k miles. Code P0325 won't go away after replacing the sensor and the connector. My mechanic is worried that it might be old wiring and warned me that getting into schematics can get expensive. I could live with the code but plan on moving to another state and it's more strict for emissions inspection, hence I'd like to deal with the issue somehow.

What are my options? Could the ECU be reprogrammed and the knock sensor deleted?

Regards,

D

I doubt if you could reprogram to get rid of an accident sir but you might try experimenting by getting a good knock sensor and just installing it on the wiring and not on the engine and ground the sensor with the ground wire if it doesn't occur then you probably have something internal wrong with the engine that the knock sensor is picking up the vibrations that's a good way to isolate that otherwise odds are either the wiring is bad or the computer driver itself

Thanks, Scotty. Appreciate it.
