My mechanic tells me that I may need a new computer.
Misfire sometimes. Rough idle.
And I feel like my truck is weak and it's burning more gas.
Just got a new engine. My fuel injectors are new too. And coil pack are new. That's why my mechanic thinks that the computer is going bad.
Where is the computer located on my Truck?
Where can I purchase the right computer?
What should I do with the old computer?
Should I just let my mechanic do the job, or can I do this job myself?

Let the computers inside the vehicle generally it's under the kick panel somewhere around the glove box.now that thing's so old you should just be able to get a computer and plug it in I don't believe it needs reprogramming if that's the problem and Mazda's do have computer problems on those older ones
The thing I found under the glove box is labelled "air bag module "
I guess that's not it. Is the computer behind the radio?
I found the computer under the hood. now where should i buy a new one?
is an after market computer ok? or do i need to get an OEM computer?
