1997 Nissan Hardbody pickup electrical issue.
Recently bought a 1997 Nissan hardbody pickup with a 5 speed as a beater to drive back and forth to work to keep the miles off my other car. The battery recently died when I woke up one morning so I bought a new one and when I connected it the battery cables and alternator started smoking( yes I connected everything correct). I am somewhat mechanically inclined I just enjoy doing it, but I don’t know [expletive deleted] about electrical work….can someone give me any tips on what it cold be? I reckon maybe a dead short someone along the line. Thanks
