99 dodge ram 2500 van, 5.2 motor, A/C clutch won't engage when I test connection meter reads 12v, if I run a jump wire from battery positive to clutch positive nothing happens.
If I jump battery positive to clutch negative clutch engages and A/C works correctly.

Sounds like you have a computer problem the computer ultimately turns that stuff on and off if you can send the power to it and ground and it works the compressor system is okay it would just be the computer controls have gone wacky me I just run a toggle switch then to turn it on and forget all that computer crap
